All of the skaters did well, with a 1st place finish in Star 6 Women for Piper Evans, Sacha Chenier-Petersen took home a Silver in the Men’s Star 5 category and Matilda Wight stood on the Podium for a Silver medal in her category of Star 4 Women U13.
Our Adult Skaters also had a chance at their first Adult Intro competition in Kelowna, with Gary, Annamarie and Marlaina, each picking up a medal (Gold/Silver/Gold respectively).
Several of the younger competitors had excellent report cards and improvement was seen in skating skills and technique across the board. Of special mention, two of our local skaters finished in 3rd place overall, Province wide, this year in their respective categories.
- Chloe Pereverzoff, scored a season high of 22.05 in Kelowna to win a bronze medal and cinch third spot overall in the Star 5 Women U13 division.
- Faeryn Sherry’s score of 18.21 in Kelowna enabled her to walk away with the third-place trophy for the Star 5 Women O13 division.
In addition, in February’s Winter Skate, held in Surrey this year, Faeryn had an impressive score of 19.47, narrowly beating out the competition, to become the BC Coast Star 5 O13 Regional Champion.
